Maria: When Gracie was 6 months old we found out that she had a rare genetic syndrome called Emanuel Syndrome. What this means is that part of her #11 chromosome and part of her #22 chromosome broke off and created an extra marker chromosome giving her 47 chromosomes instead of 46. There are only a handfull of cases ever reported mostley because of the severety of health problems at birth. We were lucky not to have any of this with Gracie and thats why we call her "Our Amazing Gracie".
